Friends of Kirkgate Park is a community-led group dedicated to enhancing and protecting Kirkgate Park, also known as Minster Gardens.
Our goal is to enhance and improve this beautiful green space. We’re working to raise money to plant flowers and shrubs, add more benches, and create a welcoming environment where people can relax, and enjoy the park all year round.

Our GOALS
Protect
We aim to protect Kirkgate Park for future generations to enjoy for years to come. We aim to do this by raising awareness of Kirkgate Park and working with the local councils.
enhance
We wish to enhance Kirkgate Park through working with Ripon City and North Yorkshire Councils, to improve the area with more benches, new flowers and other improvements.
Maintain
We want to ensure that Kirkgate Park is well maintained, this includes working with other groups and local councils to ensure that Kirkgate Park can be effectively maintained going forward.

Friends of Kirkgate Park is pleased to share our new mandate. KIRKGATE PARK has been described as a green lung in the centre of the city of Ripon. It sits in the most historic part of the city and is situated north of the Cathedral. It is surrounded on all four sides by listed buildings
